Unser Fahrzeug ist angekommen

Die Atlantic Sea erreichte ohne Verspätung die amerikanische Küste. Nach einem Zwischenstopp in Halifax und New York erreichte sie am 20.06. den Hafen von Baltimore.

The Atlantic Sea reached the coast of America without any delay. After stops in Halifax and New York it entered Baltimore harbor on June 20th.

Am 28.06. nahm sich unsere Tochter Maja einen halben Tag frei, um das Fahrzeug im Hafen aus dem Zoll zu holen. Es verlief alles problemlos, sie musste nur unterschreiben.

Our daughter Maja take half a day off on June, 28th to get our vehicle out of customs. It went perfect, one signature and everything was done.

Maja tankte den Toyota auf und fuhr ihn zu unseren Freunden Chris & Christine, wo er jetzt steht und auf unsere Ankunft wartet.

Maja filled the tank and drove the car to our friends Chris & Christine, where it is now waiting for us.

Am Sonntag werden wir dort sein und alles umpacken, damit es am Montag zeitig losgehen kann.

Next Sunday we will be there, repack our stuff and prepare anything to be able to start our tour on early Monday.

Derweil stapelt sich bei uns daheim schon das Gepäck. Wir wissen noch gar nicht, wie wir das alles mitbekommen sollen.

At home we are accumulating our luggage. How can we get all this on the plane?

Auf dem Atlantik

Unser Expeditonsmobil ist nun seit 6 Tagen an Bord der "Atlantic Sea" unterwegs, einem Ro-Ro-Frachter, der auch Container lädt.

Our expedition vehicle is on it's way with the vessel "Atlantic Sea", a ro-ro-freightship which also carries Containers.

Es gibt eine Website, auf der man verfolgen kann, wo das Schiff aktuell ist. In diesem Augenblick (08.06. 18:00 Uhr MEZ) liegt es in Liverpool im Hafen und wird beladen. Damit ergibt sich ggü. dem Fahrplan schon eine Verzögerung.

There is a website showing the exact position of the vessel at any given time. Actually (June 8th 6:00 p.m.) it is loading in Liverpool, already delayed against schedule.

Derzeit rechnet die Reederei mit 3 Tagen Verzögerung. Demnach würde das Schiff erst am 20.06.2017 in Baltimore ankommen. Maja wird unser Auto abholen. Da wir erst am 01.07.2017 in Washington ankommen werden, geht sich das noch aus.

The shipping company has informed about a delay of 3 days. So the vessel will arrive in Baltimore June 20th now. Maja will get the vehicle out of the Harbor and we will arrive July 1st, so no Problem for us.

Inzwischen haben Anna und ich auch den ersten Teil der Route, die wir Richtung Alaska nehmen wollen erarbeitet. Unten kann man unsere Planung einsehen.

In the meantime Anna and I have set up the first part of the planned route to Alaska, which is shown below.
